WILD OCEAN

Makenzie and Tayler
The winds were high today and the ocean was wild.  No Swimming.  Thank heavens our house has a hot tub and a swimming pool.  Plenty to keep everyone entertained.

They were at the beach, but no one wanted to get out of the car.
To much sand blowing around.

MORE FROM THE OUTER BANKS

Camryn, Sydney, Makenzie
Not many pictures of the girls in the water today.  They said the waves were to rough and the water was cold.  They spent a lot of time of the dunes pretending they were their houses.
 Tayler
It actually looks like they might be cheerleaders.

Pink scary and funny faces.

Pappy
Thinks he is funny by putting Sydney's Pretty Pony on his head.
She left it the car the other week and it came along to the beach with us.  After seeing the ponies on the beach he decided to get it out and have his picture taken with "one of the horses".

ANOTHER DAY AT OBX

Sydney laying in the sand.  She is wearing a swim shirt trying  to prevent anymore sun on her back.

The end of our second full day of vacation.  I can tell you that the girls are having a great time and we have the beginings of great tans.  We are using number 50 sun block, so we are being careful.  The above picture  is of Makenzie and a little girl named Hannah.  What was so interesting was that they were both the same age.  We thought she looked around 6 or 7 years old.  Love the horse in the background.

Where Uncle Matt?  Ever since Tayler has been little she would have him would bury her in the sand.   There were others to make sure the job was done.
And they did a pretty good job too.
 Camryn, Makenzie and Sydney
I believe I have found me beach.  I have always loved the beach but there is just something about looking at the ocean and watching the horses "try" to run free.  The rangers kept trying to move them away from the people, but they continued to roam all day.

DAY ONE AT THE OUTER BANKS

Pictures from our first day  vacation.
I knew there was a chance of seeing wild horses since they do roam the beaches of Corella, but was thrilled seeing them as soon as we drove on.  They would roam all over the beach throughout day.   I loved it.

The girls are in the background as the horse watches them.

ANIMALS AND KIDS

Sydney and Cameron and I believe that just may be an alligator.
Can't believe Syd's touching that thing.
Tom, Erin and the girls visited animals  this past weekend.  I'm not sure but I believe that it may be Lake Tobias.  Tayler is missing in these pictures, so maybe she didn't like the animals.  Smart girl.

The zebra seems to be their favorite.

PLAY TIME AND WORK TIME

Dylann and Marshall
Boy, It has been an extremely hot "welcome to the summer" weekend.  Temperatures in the 90's and we have not even hit the month of June .  Dylann and Marshall were so glad to be playing in their sprinkler on Saturday.  What a nice way to cool off.  I have a feeling that they will be spending a lot of time enjoying this along with their kiddy pool.  Who knows, with temperatures like this they may just find me cooling of in the sprinkler on these very hot days of summer.

Erin and Tom
These two participated and completed their first half marathon on Sunday morning in Alexandria, VA.  They really wanted to run this race and finish under 2 hours.  They did with a time of 1 hour 58 minutes.
Great job!!!
I'm so glad that the race was early on Sunday morning .  I'm sure that is something that is always planned as early in the AM as possible when it is a cool as it can be.   Matt was in a golf tournament on Saturday and their tee time was 1:00 PM.  They were lucky to be done before the thunder storms  hit the course, but they did have to deal with the heat.

PICTURE TIME

Just a few pictures of the kids that were on my camera card.
These two pictures are of Sydney looking like she is ready for Spring in this bright pink dress.
(Picture was taken in early April)

Pappy and Marshall
When Marshall is tired he often spends time sitting on Pappy's lap while they watch TV before his nap time.  One of the cutest stories Pappy told me is that while they are sitting there Marshall will  often turn around and  tell Pappy he loves him.  Ron said he tells him that a number of times during the day.  Cute!!!
I may have to get him to sit on my lap so I hear that a few times a day too.
 Dylann - Sweet little Dee.
I'm not sure what she was up to in the first picture, but she's  is finally looking at me in the second picture.  She is not like Tayler and Sydney.  They are really into posing for pictures.  Not Dee.  She is so busy doing things, that she does not really like to stop just so I can take her picture unless she is playing princess.  Then that is all about taking pictures..

 Sydney
Marshall  with his pillow
This week has been spirit week at Tayler's school.  The children dressed for the  beach one day, wore green and white on a  day  and today was crazy sock day.  Although Sydney has not gone to elementary  school yet, she is dressed in her crazy socks too.
