PREPARING FOR SUMMER

Tayler is home from school and was so excited to tell us the news.
As I mentioned before  Tayler will be preforming this summer with a band  at a carnival.  She will be singing with the band with whom she takes guitar lessons from. She has a nice voice and I'm sure she will do well. She certainly does not take after her Great Grandma, Uncle, or even her Mom.  When we went to Candle Light Service every year we would always put them beside each other and always got a good laugh at them when they would try to sing. We really were not trying to be mean just having fun.  Tayler has a number of months to practice and I can't wait to hear her.  On Thursday she practiced for us and does well already.
Tayler posing as she always does.  Got to love this girl
 And the practice begins.
I can't believe how big she is getting.
She is growing up so fast.

Now I have posted 3 different posting today so I think I have made up for lost time.  I still have more to post, but they will wait for another day.  Since we are feeling better we will see the children weekly so
hopefully the blog will not be sitting empty again.

BAKING COOKIES

Marshall and Dylann helped their Mommy make cookies.
We love going to their home and enjoying the cookies they make.
 They are hard at work!
Marshall waiting his turn to place a cookie on the tray.
As you can tell, Dylann enjoyed her cookies.

OUT FOR LUNCH AND A NEED FOR A NAP

 Sydney
Sydney and I decided to go out for lunch following her speech class on Thursday. Since they live in town it is so easy to walk to one of the few places in town you can eat.  Boy, did that girl eat.  She had 1 1/2 slices of pizza, the ham off my salad, and a dish of pickles and in true Coleman fashion she had a small bag of chips.  Needless to say when we returned to her house she was ready to curl up and take a nap.  She slept for over 2 hours.  I haven't talked to mom, but I bet she had trouble falling  asleep that night.
Sydney wondering why  I always want to take her picture.
She had almost an entire bag of chips before her meal came.
This reminds me of my mom.  She could never eat just one chip.
If she ate one she'd eat the whole bag.

A big stretch after a long nap.

PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES

Dylann and Marshall playing ring around the rosy with their mom.
We are better and we were so lucky to spend some time with all of our grandchildren.  I had my camera with me and was able to get some pictures of them.  I don't want to post them all today, because that will leave the blog with  no new post on the weekend.  So here are a few of the little ones having fun.
Dylann and her mom were dancing in this picture.
And now Marshall has a turn with Mommy.

 A smile from Sydney
Tayler  is practicing a song she will be singing this summer at a carnival.
Her guitar teacher band is going to play and she is singing with them.  HOW COOL IS THAT!!!

IN HONOR OF JOE

Most anyone who reads this blog knows us personally and knows that Ron attended Penn State on a football scholarship.  He was fortunate in knowing Joe and playing for him in the early 70's.  With the passing of Joe this past weekend has brought a lot of reflection on Ron's part.   It was interesting to me to hear people make remarks of certain things he always said and they are statements I have heard Ron say.  One such remark was, " if you take care of the small things the big things will take care of their self." Something I've heard Ron repeat over the years.  We both think that Penn State football will never be the same, but while it will never be the same it will still be Penn State football and we will continue to show our support to the Nittany Lions.
Matt would always put a Penn State wind flag out on Penn State games.  He received this new flag for Christmas from Ryann.  When we were at his house on Tuesday he had his new flag out in honor of Joe Paterno.  A wise man who has touched Ron's life in many different ways.

SOON, I PROMISE

Tayler and Pappy watching TV

Finally!!! We are finally feeling better and actually got out of the house this week.  I had my camera with me on Tuesday when we were with Dee and Marshall and again today with Tayler and Sydney.  I have been taking lots of pictures so stay tuned for a new post.  I am at Erin's now so I just downloaded two pictures from her computer.  Of course you know who these two precious girls are and who they are with.

I PROMISE

Forgive me for letting the blog sit with no new posting.  We have been sick for almost a week, so I have not felt like doing anything with the computer.  I do need new pictures and that won't happen until at least Tuesday.  I do have a few ideas of a few things I may post so hopefully I will feel like doing that this weekend.  Stay tuned and hopefully I will keep my promise and have new posting soon.

BEFORE CHRISTMAS WITH DYLANN AND MARSHALL

Pappy, Marshall and Dylann  -  In this picture they were looking at some type of kids books.
These pictures were taken the Tuesday before Christmas.  That day we decided to play with play dough and looked for objects in this magazine.  They had so much fun.  I had forgotten to post these pictures, but I am glad I found them.  Dylann and Marshall have been a little under the weather so when we were there on this past Tuesday I did not taken any pictures.  Both of the kids had nasty colds, but Dylann had a high fever and as the doctor called it, "a serious ear infection".  Hopefully the next time we see them they will be up to getting their pictures taken.
 Dylann
They  made cookies at their home with Ryann's aunts and cousins on the weekend before Christmas.
Dylann is showing me the  cookies she helped make.
Mommy showing me one of the little mice that they made.  Don't ask me how.
Marshall also showed me the cookies his mommy made.
This picture reminds me just how much Marshall looks like his daddy.
We were getting ready to play with play dough, but first  Dylann showed me her cookies.
Pappy and Dylann hard at work.
And so is Marshall

MOMENTS FROM 2011

I was looking through pictures from last year and decided to do a blog that included  moments from last year.  Not all moments were happy, but they happened and they affect our lives. Boy it was difficult to choose just one or two pictures from each month.  For the most part there were many joyful times over the last year and our hope for this new  year is one full of sunshine.
January
Dylann saying goodbye to Moochie.
The beginning of 2011 did bring some heart break with the passing of Matt and Ryann's one kitty and their beautiful Mya.
Frebuary
Mya was a beautiful dog who was so well manner and we all miss her.
  Marshall and Mommy
February continue with some difficult times too.  Marshall was admitted to the hospital with difficulty breathing.  He since has become a pro at doing his breathing treatments.  Thank goodness there is such a thing that he is able to do at home without the need to head to the hospital.
March
Not that Mya could ever be replaced, but Toby came to the family and he is a great dog.
Dylann and Mommy
On to happier moments  with Ryann celebrating her 31st birthday
April
Tayler, Erin and Sydney
Erin celebrated her 33rd birthday.  She is blessed with her two beautiful girls
May
Sydney's participated in her pre school graduation.
This year she will be part of the graduate class and move onto kindergarten next August.
June
Nana and Pappy
We celebrated our 36 wedding anniversary on June 7.  I love this picture, but I know there was no yellow stain on my dress the day we were married.
The Etter Family
Matthew celebrated his 35th birthday.  I can't believe that this year he will turn 36.  It seems that 40 is just around the corner.
Fishing is one thing he enjoys doing at the Outer Banks.
July
Marshall and the snake
We were unable to get a picture of the Bear that continually visited Matt and Ryann's house stealing their bird feeders, but we did get one snake that was on a visit there.  Marshall was not afraid. There's no way I would have wrapped a snake around my neck.
August
Sydney celebrated her 5th birthday
While Tayler celebrated her  8th.
Tayler - first day of school.  It's hard to believe that she is entering 2nd grade.  She is a bright student and does so well.
September

Sydney and her Mommy on her first day of preschool.
She is doing so well and I'm sure she will do well next year.
Our only grandson celebrated his 2nd birthday.  What fun he had and I truly believe that he partied an entire week.  Two cakes and present two weekends in a row.  All of this happened because Hurricane Irene canceled our trip to OBX at the last moments.  They had originally planned his birthday party the weekend before because we were to be on vacation.  We had that birthday, then ended up being home the weekend  of his actual birthday.  We couldn't let that day go by without doing something so we just had a second birthday party.  Any time we ask him  where's the party is he will say " I'm the party."
October
Matt and Ryann celebrated their 7 th wedding anniversary.  We wish them 70 more wonderful years.
November
Dylann celebrated her 4th birthday
What a fun time she had.  She had her two cousin over for a sleep over along with a pretend trip to the beach. What fun they had.
