MAY HE REST IN PEACE


Robert William Wood, 60, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his residence.Born September 23, 1949 in Columbia, he was a son of Robert and Betty Jane (Coleman) Wood. Mr. Wood retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 2006. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served from 1969 to 1973. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, BPOE 600, VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg Club, Photography Groups On-Line, and Military History On-Line. Bob was an avid photographer and loved the game of golf. He was a connoisseur of food and fine wines. He was interested in the Battle of Gettysburg and collected many books on the subject. He enjoyed music, collecting various jazz artists, enjoyed nature, hiking, and camping. Surviving is his wife, the former Patricia Rogers; two beagles named Tell and Tyrel; a calico cat named Chancy; a sister, Catherine Etter; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 150 Norlo Drive, Fayetteville, with The Reverend Clyde Deshong officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, Inc., 2325 Country Rd., Chambersburg, PA or the Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, Inc., 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA.Arrangements by Auer Cremation Services of PA, Inc., Harrisburg.
